CREATIVITY COACHING

Gaelynn Lea is a huge believer in personal development and the inherent creativity in all human beings. To that end, she launched Creative Living Coaching, an online coaching community for disabled creatives, aging artists, and highly sensitive humans who know the mainstream creative ecosystem wasn’t built for them, and who are tired of swimming upstream.

If the creative coaching programs you’ve encountered in the past were too intense, too capitalist, too hustle-driven, too inaccessible, too (accidentally?) ableist, or simply not designed with you in mind, you’re not alone! That’s exactly why Gaelynn started Creative Living Coaching — to create a welcoming place that allows you to bloom more fully.

What is your experience with disability? We all have different life stories. You may be a Deaf musician, an oil painter who’s dealing with age-related vision loss, a dancer whose disability was caused an accident or illness, a poet navigating a mental health condition, or a graphic designer for whom client networking events are overstimulating. Or perhaps you don’t have any type of official diagnosis, just a deep sense that the “go viral or go home” type of creative career doesn’t work for you.

What holds this community together isn’t a particular disability or art form it’s a shared belief that every person’s creative practice has value, independent of their public output. At Creative Living Coaching, we believe that every human matters regardless of what their body or mind is going through. We believe that creativity is adaptable and can happen at every stage of life. We believe a sustainable creative life honors your body in this moment, its actual needs, and your deepest values.

Gaelynn Lea wants to help you discover what an enriching creative life looks like for YOU and nobody else. You deserve to carve out a little time each week to do the creative work that lights you up. Life is too short to keep your creativity at bay!

Gaelynn Lea launched Creative Living Coaching because she is a disabled creative herself. She knows what it feels like to make art in a world that leaves your perspective out of the discussion. She has released six albums, toured internationally, composed for Broadway, and published a memoir — yet her physical needs are still often ignored or up for debate. Being a disabled artist in a world that prefers not acknowledge disability (let alone accommodate it!) can make you feel invisible, alienated, and exhausted. That’s why finding a supportive community dedicated to creative practice is so important!

Unfortunately, the creative coaching industry has consistently ignored disabled people, and failed to address their unique needs. On the rare occasions when disability does get mentioned, the focus is on disability as an object of inspiration or pity or even disdain. Not surprisingly, this erasure and misrepresentation feels terrible. We can do so much better that that!

Creative Living Coaching believes that disabled creatives, aging artists, and highly sensitive humans deserve a space that takes them seriously as whole human beings doing real creative work. You are not just an afterthought or a feel-good story. Being disabled or getting older doesn’t have to stop you from connecting with your beautiful, ever-evolving creative practice.

Gaelynn Lea knows from lived experience that when people feel genuinely supported, they don’t just make cool art — they live more fulfilling lives! When you’re able to create a more enriching life for yourself, those effects will ripple out to your family, your community, and indeed the wider world… And the world needs your unique spark now more than ever.

Your art can better the world, but you can’t pour from an empty cup. Creative Living Coaching aims to be that caring community to fill you up — a place where others see you, understand where you’re coming from, and support your creative practice. We strive to be accessible and welcoming to all, continually growing and evolving to meet our members’ needs.
